Hi, Chynnerio here!
After every trip, you come back to your familiar home, with a feeling of both satisfaction and emptiness: satisfaction from the memories made and the places explored, but emptiness from the sudden quiet, the return to routine, and the absence of that exhilarating sense of discovery. You thoughtlessly surf again the photos you have made during your trip, sometimes imagine one more time the feelings of being there…
I’m currently doing the exact same things, but… With drawings! After my trip to Salzburg and the Alps, I have collected quite a few sketches that I love to share it with you!
Day 1: Arriving in Munich, Oktoberfest!
Everywhere you go in Munich, you will see people wearing traditional clothes of Bavaria, Lederhosen and Dirndl. It’s not just during the biggest festival of the region, Oktoberfest, but some also wear it to work, too!
Oktoberfest is the biggest festival happening in Munich, and it attracts millions of people coming to the city. And needless to say, it’s PACKED of people!
But I enjoy the atmosphere and the parade around the city. It’s a worthy experience!
Day 2: Königssee
I’m lucky that during my visit in Salzburg, there is Oktoberfest, and as the government doesn’t want people to get drunk while driving car, they decided to make public transport completely free in the whole region. Plus the 49-Euro Ticket that allows you to use every public transportation in Germany, my trip to Königssee is free! Normally you have to pay 13,5 euros for a round trip tho.
Day 3: Visit waterfalls at Wimbachbrücke
Totally recommended! You will walk through various waterfalls and a big stream, with deafening noise but the scene is picturesque!
Day 4: Climbing Untersberg and visit Schloss Hellbrunn
When you buy Salzburg Card, visit Untersberg is a must! Even during summer, there is still snow on the mountain, and you’re walking on snow! There are also multiple slopes so… Hehehe, just sit down on the edge, push yourself a little bit forwards and yoohoooooooooooo.
Then: Visit Salzburg city
It’s funny because I had been in the city for 3 days but I hadn’t even gone around to explore the city. So, during those last days, I decided to spend some times with the city. Salzburg itself feels like a Christmas city all year long: So warm, so cozy. For a perfect guide around the city, I recommend you read the blogs from Free Walking Tour Salzburg, and also if possible, attend a walking tour from them. I have such a great time following their tips. Salzburg seems small, but the city is really well-organised in terms of tourism. Hence, after 3 days in Salzburg, I barely can say I have done all what the city can offer!
Remember to drink Stiegl, the original beer from Salzburg, when you’re here!
And watch The Sound of Music every night at 20:00 at Yoho Hostel, one of the best hostel I have ever been to!
And Brezel, of course.
That’s it, Mozart is waiting for youuu
Hi Chynnerio, it is so nice to see that you stay consistent with this block. We got in touch a while ago and didn't write since. Still I am happy to see these newsletters in my mailbox. Keep up your work!
